Life with Nova

How old is your little one?

My daughter Nova is 6 months old right now.

What were some of your first thoughts when you found out you were pregnant? Have those thoughts changed since becoming a mom?

When I first found out I was pregnant I was very excited, I was nervous like oh my goodness a baby a child somebody that will always depend on me but my excitement outweighed my nerves with being pregnant. Since becoming a mom I am still excited and I love being a mom especially being her mom. It makes me proud to be her mom that god chose us for each other.

I know my entire first four months was hard because I was so sick. How was your pregnancy?

My pregnancy was sooooooooooo easy!! I enjoyed it so much! I didn't start to gain weight until about 5-6months in, I lost weight at first. I only felt nauseous when I brushed my tongue or smelled grilled chicken lol! I cut out fast food (well tried to) and I ate so much pizza I thought I would never eat pizza again it was crazy. I loved milkshakes and chocolate milk so much I would've had a milkshake every day if I wasn't so afraid to blow up lol.

Listen, I'm still getting adjusted and it's been four months! How do you balance it all and still find time for yourself?

I have a major support system that helps me out a lot! Her dad and I have a pretty tight schedule so we run everything on a schedule. Mind you I still run late getting her ready so, most of the time I'm running around like a chicken with my head cut off trying to get things done (I am working so hard on my procrastination "it gets me everyday"). But once I learned Nova and how she is it helped. She has accidents that are out of this world. So I always make sure I pack her 3 outfits in her bag just in case. Thank god I do because its been twice she's used all her outfits in one day. Sundays we have either family day or girls day so that's our fun day. I also get some rare chances to have "me time", her dad will keep her and I'll go get my nails done, sleep, me alone, especially when I get overwhelmed. Her father and grandparents help a lot with making sure I get me time.

Where are some of your favorite places to shop for your baby girl?

My favorite place to shop for her is Gap and Carters. Since she's bigger, I can shop at Zara for her. They have the cutest baby clothes! I see cute little Instagram boutiques for babies and toddlers, I never order from them, because I'm scared. Its weird but, I'm scared they're fake. I also love Cat& Jack from Target.

Everyone is an advice guru when it comes to parenting during and even after your pregnancy. What would you say was the best advice you received and use daily?

The best advice is every kid is different, I know she just goes at her own pace even though I want her to slow down just a bit. I enjoy it because I know her growing up will fly by.

What advice do you have for your daughter on being a strong and beautiful woman?

My advice for Nova is live the way you want to live and explore the wonders of this life. The possibilities are endless, and if you can dream it you can achieve it. As corny as it is, it's so true. The older I get, the more I realize that. Always stay true to who you are and treat everyone the way you want to be treated. Spread love, give love, and be genuine.
